Lillian and her husband travelled to Estevan in 2009 from Scotland, for an emotional visit to this grave, the first of Jim's family. From Lillian- “He was killed when the plane he was training in hit a hanger on take off. The instructor was baldly injured but recovered.” Funeral took place Saturday, August 1, 1942, in Estevan, H. H. Ashley was the Church of England Chaplain, He was assisted by the Local United Church Minister. Carolyn's mother Dorothy Boiston, was John's elder sister. Section 16, Township 3, range 8, W2 John Marten Hinzman, age 23, b- in US, immigrated in 1901 William Hinzman, age 18, b- in US, immigrated in 1901 Charley Hinzman, age 29, b- in Germany, immigrated in 1901 Henry Hinzman, age 20, in US, immigrated in 1901 William “Bill” Hinzman b- Apr 4, 1913 in USA d- Oct 26, 1993 in Estevan buried in Souris Valley Memorial Gardens shown in 1916 census, immigrating in 1913 Brother of Donald Hinzman above. William shown as a Corporal, wounded Dec 1944, member of the Manitoba Regiment at the time, address Hitchcock SK.
