Mar 27, 1931 The Bienfait Boy Scouts received a renewal of their charter
Association Warrant #33
Harry Hesketh- President
J. F. Bulmer- Vice-President
G. J. Oliver- Treasurer
A. Wright- Scoutmaster

The First Annual Banquet of the First Bienfait Boy Scout Troop, and Wolf Cub Pack was held Dec 1956 at the Union Hall in Bienfait
Activities were less than a year old at that time.
They had 37 members, 164 people attended the banquet.
District commissioner, Grant Spokman, Provincial Representative Al Josephson, and President of the Estevan District Council, Bert Hogman attended.
Dr. P. H. Barnes, Councillor of Bienfait, gave a speech.
Bob Ostepchuck was Treasurer of the Troop.

Back in 1956-57 Bienfait had a Cub Pack.
We used to meet in the basement of the Catholic Hall
across from the town pump house at that time
SW corner of Carbon Ave and Main St.


My Dad Phil Gent and my Mom Helen Gent (nee Gesell) were leaders of the Bienfait Cubs above
Both are now deceased

Notice the Union Jack Flag in the right corner of the picture.
The sheets on the wall were attendance charts, a star for each meeting we attended.

Here is a photo my Mom took as a fund raiser we were selling Planters nuts
so that was adapted into the Wolf Cub Float in the Bienfait parade.

My parents went on to join Mr and Mrs Bill Hinzman, and others, in running the 5th Estevan Cub and Scout Troup
My brother Wayne Gent worked as a Scout leader in Estevan as well
He attended Bienfait schools from Grade 1 to 12
My brother Don from Grade 1 to 9 inclusive
and myself from Grade 1 to 3 inclusive
We moved to Estevan in 1958, when Wayne graduated
