My Uncle Nels sold oil, gas etc under his own name, until he signed up as a North Star Agent
My dad's receipt June 6, 1947
This store was located on the South side of the railway xing, going into the Backman homestead, on the West side
He sold gas and oil wholesale to farmers etc.
When he quit the business he was a Shell Oil Dealer.

CAMPBELL'S STORE
Ernie and Elsa (nee Backman) Campbell's store
This building is still standing in Hirsch, one of the few.
It was for sale in May 2003.
He sold Gas and Oil retail
At the end he was a Shell dealer.

I have added the color, we know it was blue, not sure if this dark a blue.
THEIR HEAD OFFICE WAS IN WINNIPEG UNTIL 1962, THEN THEY CHANGED THEIR NAME TO NORTH STAR OIL DIVISION OF SHELL OIL COMPANY IN 1962, OFFICES MOVED TO TORONTO ON.
THEN IT BECAME SHELL CANADA LTD IN 1963
THE REFINERY FOR NORTH STAR OIL WAS IN BRANDON MB.
IT IS VERY HARD TO LOCATE THIS LOGO ANYMORE.
SO INCLUDED IT HERE FOR OTHERS TO SEE.
