Block 59, Lots 11-20, #1001-#1037, First St.

Lot 11- #1001- NW Corner 12th Ave.- Theodore and Anna Blomberg & family lived here in 1921. He was a town Barber at that time.

Lot 12- #1005-

Lot 13- #1009- Donald Alexander and Martha McNeil, daughter Annie Mcneil lived here in 1921. Donald was an undertaker in Estevan. He was born ca 1880 in ON.

Lot 17- #1025- Robert and Mary Elizabeth McIlvenna lived here in 1921, he operated a Livery and Feed store. ; Arthur “Art” W. Forgay lived here in 1955, Principal of ECI.

Lot 20- Block 59, #1037 1st st.- Fisher House- Built in 1905 by William Kinna, who owned a Lumber Yard at #1106 5th st. in Estevan, until 1930's, and lived at #935 2nd st.; sold ca 1910 to Minnie Fisher, b-Oct 1881, in Iowa, USA, (but she shows herself as Canadian nationality in 1911 census) came to Estevan in 1906. 1911 she had 12 Boarders. There was a fire in the Boarding house in 1912, and the house was rebuilt even bigger. It was a Boarding House for years. Helping Minnie, a younger brother, Timothy Fisher, b-ca 1883, (Aug 1885 per 1911 census still in Estevan), who came from USA in 1903, to Estevan. Both Living in Estevan in 1906. 1921 an Eva Clara Bailey, is shown living with her shown as an adopted child, age 11, born in SK. Also in 1921 a Niece living with her, Lillian Wilson, b- Oct 27, 1907 in Estevan, daughter of John Wilson and Nora Richard. 1921 there were 10 lodgers living there, besides the family members; Per Historic Walking Tour Booklet, Mrs. Lillian Simpson ran the Boarding House after her Great-aunt's death.
My Grandfather Gus Gesell and his family, rented the top floor in this house, ca 1933, as I had a Cousin born in the House that year;
Large house and 2 rooms were sublet to the Busch's ; 2 staircases in this house- Fisher House, Today (2017) is a B&B . Historic Estevan Home
