Built in 1955, during the big oil boom in the City
Opened Oct 17, 1955, at 2:00 PM

Opening day book from the Dolly Backman family
cost $195,500 to build
171 ft Long x 122 ft wide, which included the Gymnasium- 43 ft x 75 ft
J. D. McKenzie did the original design of the building, and attended the grand opening
A Cornerstone was laid by Mr. McKenzie
