Price Coal Mine Very near Hugh Hassard's mine This mine was operating Sept 6, 1892. The Price Family came to this area in 1880, Their Pit mouth was on the side of the hill. There was 2 drifts, Hassard's and Price. By Sept 1892 they had been digging coal for 6-8 years. This mine and Hugh Hassard's mine were 2 of the earliest in this area. In all the books I have seen, it does not list a first name, nor initial.
