The source of this material is the National Archives of Canada Postmaster Bios and Geneaolgy James Richmond b- 1871 in Glasgow, Scotland d- Nov 23, 1927 in Terrace, age 56 buried in Kitsumkalum Cemetery, Terrace came to Canada in 1911 married Christiana McLeod b- Sutherlandshire, Scotland d- daughter Eric Richmond wife and daughter immigrated after James 1922 they moved to Terrace bought the old cooperative business there, operated a grocery and butcher business in Terrace. William Patrick Lynch b- Apr 1864 in NB? (see discrepancy below, born in Hamilton ON?) d- Nov 12, 1941 in New Westminster BC married Rosa nee ? b- Mar 1865 in Germany son- William “Bill” Lynch (this may or may not be true, due to discrepancy below) He was part of the Lynch Brothers They operated a Grocery, Feed and Hardware Store on Pugsley st. Post Office was in their store. Dec 1914 the family left to Oakland CA, for the winter. I imagine I read this in an old newspaper, so assume still correct. 1911- William owns a retail Dept. Store in Prince Rupert, lives on 1st ave. 1921- I show a William P. Lynch, in Port Clements, Shown as a sawmill manager there, age 54 b- in NB?. Now here we have a discrepancy, as Greg Lynch Tells me William Patrick's father was John Lynch and mother Mary. He also says William was born in Hamilton ON, per death cert. He says William was a member of the RCMP when he died. His NWMP file says he was born in Hamilton, father John son of Patrick Lynch, b- Ireland, age 52 in 1881, and Ellen nee?, b- NB, age 41 brother- Thomas Lynch, b- in NB, age 22 in 1881 brother- Terance Lynch, b- in NB, age 1 in 1881 all in Northumberland NB in 1881 all of above could be wrong now for father and siblings. Per email and info from Greg Lynch, Apr 9, 2015, he was the brother of John Myron Lynch, b- 1866 d- Mar 10, 1916 in Hazelton BC, age 50 buried in Fairview Cemetery, Prince Rupert BC John was a prospector in the Yukon in 1901. In his Will John was a Merchant in Smithers, and brother William, was his Executor. John's wife in the will shown as Mary E. Lynch. William Jordan Larkworthy b- Jan 15, 1872 in Stratford, Perth North, ON d- May 28, 1950, Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver BC, age 78 buried in Masonic Cemetery, Cambie St, Vancouver BC, with his wife son of William Larkworthy, b- England, and Mary Louisa Jordan, b- USA married Evangeline Mary Martin b- May 4, 1893 in Newfoundland d- Aug 26, 1948, Vancouver BC, age 55 daughter of William Martin, b- Newfoundland He also had a store in Hazelton Larkworthy St, in New Hazelton named after him Larkworthy Creek BC named after him 1891 he was in Stratford, father a retail Butcher. 1901 shown as a bookkeeper in Hazelton 1905 he was a Telegraph Lineman in Hazelton 1906 shown as an accountant, returning from Hong Kong. 1935 returning to New Hazelton, via Florida, from Cuba, age 63 New Hazelton Union Bank of Canada, was robbed by 7 men, Apr 7, 1914 2 robbers shot and killed 50 ft from the bank, see article below they took $1100. Leader was a Russian known in Hazelton. Mr. Gaslin, manager for Lynch Brothers Store was in the Bank. He was depositing Post Office Money at the time. Photo Credit: W.W.
