The Governor General of Canada, Charles “Vincent” Massey, visited Kitimat and Kemano, Apr 20, and 21, 1954

He arrived first at the Kitimat dock, from Vancouver, then went on to Kemano.
He travelled on the V Class, Canadian Navy Destroyer, HMCS Sioux.
travelling with him, his son Captain Lionel Massey, and Lionel's wife, Lilias Massey, nee Ahearn, from Ottawa,
who served as Chatelaine of Rideau Hall.
They came complete with their official entourage.
He was the first Canadian born Governor General.

what became the Massey-Harris Co. Ltd.
combining Massey Manufacturing Co.,

Alanson Harris established his business at Beamsville in 1857.
Merged in 1891.
