Palmer Mine Located at E 1/2 of LS2, Section 4, Township 2, Range 8, W2 This Mine operated prior to 1917, but was not operating in 1917. Operated by John Robert Palmer. b- Feb 1869 in Willington Quay, Northumberland, England d- ? aft 1921 He had a western land grant on SE Section, with mineral claim, E1/2 OF LS 2 OF 4. 1906 Census- mother Agnus living with him in Estevan 1911 Census, his widowed mother Agnes, lived with him. Both Immigrated in 1903. They came from England on the SS Tunisian, arriving in Quebec City May 1903 John shown age 34 and Agnes age 62 He was listed as a farmer. 1916 Agnes and John on a farm near Estevan Tsp 2, Rge 8, W2 Agnes 75 now, John 45 1921 census John Robert Palmer shown age 51 living on George st, Hillside, in Estevan, occupation- Janitor Religion- Salvation Army, no sign of his mother now. Mother- Agnes Palmer, nee Carr? b- Mar 1841 in Newbiggin, Northumberland, England d- bet 1916 and 1921 Father- Robert Palmer b- 1833 in Lowick, Northumberland, England d- bef 1903, in England father, mother possibly married Oct -Dec 1866 in Bedford Northumberland Reg.
