Twitter Facebook Pinterest × Charles William Digby Clifford British Columbia, Canada Charles William Digby Clifford b- Oct 14, 1842 Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, Ireland d- May 10, 1916 in Vancouver, BC, age 73 He was Member of the Provincial Legislature, for Cassiar Skeena for 8 years. He was from Vancouver. He came to BC in 1862 for the gold rush, and entered the Cariboo Country for some time. 1888 he accepted position of Manager for the Hudson Bay Company at Fort Simpson, where he remained until he went into politics. He lived in Victoria for many years. He not only bought land here, he also bought Thornhill Landing from Tom Thornhill.
