British Columbia, Canada

TCHITIN PASSIVE
A nice Summer shot!
This picture is looking toward the Alice Arm Passive, which would be on the mountain to the left of the front face of the passive,
you can make out the valley at that point, which is Alice Arm

TCHITIN PASSIVE
Another one of those moon scapes!

Engineered by Mon Bains, this system from Aiyansh to Kitsault, was one of the few in the world that used Double Passives.
It was quite an engineering accomplishment at the time.
The system was constructed in 1969-1970.
To enable the building of this passive a living quarters was constructed of 2×4, and 2 layers of plastic.
It was built by myself and Rolly Anderson.
After a couple weeks of use, a bear got into the building and destroyed everything!
Rolly stayed at this cabin later on, and cooked for the antenna crew.

Looks like a fun job!!
The scale of the size of these passives can be seen comparing the size of the man in this photo.
