Mr. Henry “Harry / Mac” Emerson McKenzie
  • 1881- Shown age 6, living in St. Stephen, Charlotte, NB, Canada
  • 1881/1882- McKenzie Family Immigrated to US
  • 1900- He is shown living in Minneapolis MN, with his family, He is shown as a Brick Mason, same as his Father
  • 1905- Shown in Minneapolis MN, as a Brick Layer, and his father as a Contractor Builder.
  • 1907- He Came to Estevan to work on the Empire Hotel, which still stands today (2017)
  • 1911- He is still shown as a Contractor in Estevan

He built many buildings in Estevan, The International Hotel (which burnt down in 1973), The First Sewage Disposal Plant, City Sidewalks, MacCready's Store (#1132 4th st) (building still exists 2017), and the Orpheum Theatre on 4th st., built in 1913-14,(Building and Business still there in 2017), Plus he built many of the Brick homes in Estevan. Letter from his wife, states he built the “Davie's Block” (1201 5th st.) but my records show it was built in 1902? Before he came to Estevan, ca 1906-07. Maybe he did some additions to it? either way, This man was a Big Part of Estevan's History.
