This Church was built by my Mom's Uncle,
William “Bill” Robert Boyle,
b- Aug 26, 1872, Lake Dore, Renfrew Co., ON
d- Sept 16, 1972, Devon Nursing Home, Lethbridge, AB
He married Katarina (Elisabeth) (Lizzie) Wendel, daughter of Ludwig Wendel Sr., the Founder of Neudorf.
They had 5 children

Received an email from her son Chris Roberts, Feb 12, 2009 stating She is no longer the Pastor here, and in fact no longer lives in Saskatchewan

IN FRONT OF THE ZION LUTHERAN CHURCHIS THIS CAIRN
IT READS:
“ZION CHURCH, THE FIRST LUTHERAN CONGREGATION IN THIS DISTRICT,
WAS ORGANIZED IN 1892, THE FIRST SERVICES HAD BEEN HELD IN A SOD SHACK, ON JULY 23, 1890,
WHEN PASTOR SCHMIEDER OF EDENWOLD VISITED THE AREA. FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS LAY-READING
SERVICES WERE HELD REGULARLY UNTIL PASTOR STREICH CAME AS THE FIRST RESIDENT PASTOR IN 1892.
THE PRESENT CHURCH BUILDING WAS DEDICATED TO THE GLORY OF GOD ON JUNE 12, 1898, IN 1964,
THE CONGREGATION DISBANDED AND MERGED WITH CHRIST LUTHERAN CONGREGATION IN NEUDORF.”
THIS CAIRN WAS ERECTED IN 1966.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE IS HELD EACH YEAR IN JUNE AT THIS SPOT
