Annie “Nancy” Garner - - 1917 - 2001
Annie “Nancy” Garner, 83, 305 8th St. NE, Minot, died Wednesday in a Minot nursing home.
She was born in Roche Percee, Sask., Canada, November 3, 1917, to Edward and Annie Pierce. She attended school there and in Estevan, Sask. She worked in the family owned grocery store in Bienfait, Sask. And also worked in Regina. On May 10, 1939, she married John “Jack” Garner in Timmins, Ontario, Canada. They moved to the United States in 1949, living first in West Virginia and then moving to Hazen until 1955 when they moved to Minot. She worked at Ann's Fashions, Union National Bank, First Service Bank and First Western Bank and Trust, retiring in 1983. Her husband died June 1, 1988. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Minot Senior Citizens.
Survivors: daughter, Carolyn “Cari” Odegard and husband Jim, Grand Forks, ND; son, Edward W. Pierce Garner, Clovis, CA; three grandchildren, Lori Glazier and husband Ross, Rochester, MN, Eric Odegard and wife Lynn, Woodland Hills, CA and William “Will” Garner, Clovis, CA; three great-grandchildren, Karina and Rachel Glazier and Eric James “E.J.” Odegard; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents' six brothers and three sisters. Funeral: Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation: Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Minot
Private Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Officiant: Rev. Luther Hanson, Chaplain at Trinity Homes
