He controlled the relief payments in the village during the depression era.
He was also a School Trustee, Art Graham bought an old school. He was the First honorary member of the Bienfait Legion
served in WWI, Reg #256927
living in Sedley SK when he enlisted, Jan 10, 1918 in Regina

He was a member of the Bienfait Legion,
and was declared the oldest Legionnaire in Saskatchewan,
just prior to his death.
1911 census shows him as a Machine Agent in Bienfait,
living as a lodger with Valentine Doerr.

Heading to work and live with a relative and employer, Mr. James Kershaw in Bienfait.

she was the daughter of James Kershaw, a Joiner

1920 he lived at 90 Landsdowne Ave in Winnipeg.
His mother died in 1922 and he and sister Alice and brother Ted,
were raised by his grandparents at same address in Winnipeg.

d- June 20, 1970 in Bienfait SK.

Sadly their son Lorne passed away in Edinburgh Scotland.
He attended the Bienfait Reunion in 2005

Other members of their family, as far as I can figure out,
if the same Harry Barker,
Connie Bradley, who was sent back to Estevan, Aug 8, 1941
to live with the Harry Glew family.
In 1932 Harry Bradley and his family went to England.
He was painting camouflage on ships etc.
They had 2 sons in the war at the Battle of Dunkirk,
Maurice, age 21 and Allen age 18.
Maurice was one of the last evacuees from Dunkirk.
Allen had blood poisoning from shrapnel wounds.

Harry Bradley went on the Bienfait town council in 1956
Elected Mayor by acclamation in 1957
Lived in Bienfait as early as 1927

Dr. P. Barnes and Harry Bradley are both responsible for the change from a Village to the Town of Bienfait.
also they were part of the committee that brought water and sewer to the town.
