just north of Smithers, in Range 5, Coast Land District

Longitude- 127°08'00” W

In 1911 there were already 75 people living in the area, Most were involved in farming/ranching.

ca July 1911 they built a bridge across the Bulkley River at Glentanna

Area can be reached via Telkwa High Rd, or Snake Rd

Had Government Telegraph, Coal Deposits, and Firebrick Clay Deposits, ca 1921

I have also seen his name as Henry P. Jones

d- Jan 16, 1940 in Vancouver, age 69 (possibly)
or Mar 17, 1958 in Vernon (which one is right?)

son of William Jones and Brigett Martin
Harry was the Store Keeper, and owned the New Glacier Hotel there.
I know he was married with 2 children in 1915.
He had a son and a daughter
At least one of his children went to University in Victoria

Harry immigrated in 1885 to Canada, per 1901 census

Harry married Mary Ellen Caldwell, June 22, 1895 in Nelson BC
b- May 2, 1875 in Nebraska, US
d- Apr 13, 1948 in Kern CA
daughter of David Caldwell and Ellen Johnson
She was living in Smithers in 1915

Harry enlisted in WWI, Sept 11, 1915 in Victoria BC
Reg # 826102, Army Canadian Infantry, 143rd Batt
Rank- Sergeant

Per GeoBC, George Duhamel built the Glacier Hotel in 1905 on lot 861, later lot 881
b- Mar 1866 in Quebec
in 1911 Duhamel was manager of the 20 mile house owned by William Patterson

ca: Mar 20, 1913 the Glacier Hotel was sold to E. Caldwell of Vancouver BC
